Before you book

The certificate has strict timing and vaccination rules.

An AHC is only valid when the rest of the travel record is in order.

For travel from Great Britain to the EU, your pet must be microchipped and have a valid rabies vaccination. GOV.UK says you must wait at least 21 full days after the first rabies vaccination, although some vaccines take longer.

How we calculate Animal Health Certificate costs.

Data source

Rightvet records prices published on veterinary practice websites in Great Britain. No missing AHC price is estimated.

Definitions

We take one fixed standard or first-pet AHC price per first-opinion practice. Additional-pet, repeat, urgent, fit-to-fly, export certificate and other non-comparable variants are excluded.

Coverage

The national figure uses 1,673 first-opinion practices with a comparable published price. Rightvet lists practices and published fees, not individual Official Veterinarians.

Checks

The practice's own price wording remains the source. Confirm the final fee, what it includes and whether an Official Veterinarian is available before booking.
